بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقًا
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; View more verses
وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطًا
By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); View more verses
وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحًا
And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), View more verses
فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقًا
Then press forward as in a race, View more verses
فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْرًا
Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), View more verses
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ
One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, View more verses
تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ
Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): View more verses
قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
Hearts that Day will be in agitation; View more verses
أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ
Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. View more verses
يَقُولُونَ أَإِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ
They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? View more verses
أَإِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَخِرَةً
"What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" View more verses
قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" View more verses
فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ
But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, View more verses
فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالسَّاهِرَةِ
When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). View more verses
هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ
Has the story of Moses reached thee? View more verses
إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- View more verses
اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ
"Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: View more verses
فَقُلْ هَلْ لَكَ إِلَىٰ أَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ
"And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- View more verses
وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
"'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" View more verses
فَأَرَاهُ الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ
Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. View more verses
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); View more verses
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). View more verses
فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, View more verses
فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ
Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". View more verses
فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَىٰ
But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. View more verses
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِمَنْ يَخْشَىٰ
Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). View more verses
أَأَنْتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ السَّمَاءُ ۚ بَنَاهَا
What! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)? (Allah) hath constructed it: View more verses
رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا
On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection. View more verses
وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا
Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light). View more verses
وَالْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَاهَا
And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse); View more verses
أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرْعَاهَا
He draweth out therefrom its moisture and its pasture; View more verses
وَالْجِبَالَ أَرْسَاهَا
And the mountains hath He firmly fixed;- View more verses
مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ
For use and convenience to you and your cattle. View more verses
فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَىٰ
Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),- View more verses
يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا سَعَىٰ
The Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for, View more verses
وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَنْ يَرَىٰ
And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see,- View more verses
فَأَمَّا مَنْ طَغَىٰ
Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds, View more verses
وَآثَرَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
And had preferred the life of this world, View more verses
فَإِنَّ الْجَحِيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ
The Abode will be Hell-Fire; View more verses
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ
And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires, View more verses
فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ
Their abode will be the Garden. View more verses
يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا
They ask thee about the Hour,-'When will be its appointed time? View more verses
فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا
Wherein art thou (concerned) with the declaration thereof? View more verses
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا
With thy Lord in the Limit fixed therefor. View more verses
إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرُ مَنْ يَخْشَاهَا
Thou art but a Warner for such as fear it. View more verses
كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا
The Day they see it, (It will be) as if they had tarried but a single evening, or (at most till) the following morn! View more verses
