الر ۚ تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ ١
A.L.R. These are the symbols (or Verses) of the perspicuous Book.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
12:2
إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ٢
We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran, in order that ye may learn wisdom.
12:3
نَحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ أَحْسَنَ الْقَصَصِ بِمَا أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ لَمِنَ الْغَافِلِينَ ٣
We do relate unto thee the most beautiful of stories, in that We reveal to thee this (portion of the) Quran: before this, thou too was among those who knew it not.
